The Jigawa State Police Command has intensified its fight against drug trafficking, leading to the arrest of 105 suspects in a series of coordinated raids across the state.
Confirming the development, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, told reporters at the headquarters in Dutse on Tuesday that officers combed several communities to dismantle illegal drug networks.
He noted that the operation, which covered all parts of the state, resulted in the seizure of more than 5,000 prohibited drugs and intoxicants, including cannabis and other hard substances.
Adam further disclosed that the confiscated items included 2,541 tablets of Exol and 1,146 units of D-5—both widely misused substances—underscoring the magnitude of the police effort to curb drug abuse in Jigawa.
