The President, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, delivered the tribute on Friday during Ogbeh’s burial in his country home of Efugo, Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The remains of the former Minister of Agriculture were interred at about 1:18 p.m., with dignitaries, family members, and political associates in attendance.

He commended the late elder statesman for his pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s democracy, from his contributions as a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to his leadership as PDP National Chairman between 2001 and 2005, and later as a key figure in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ogbeh was also remembered for his role in promoting peace, unity, and stability, with President Tinubu describing him as “a peace-loving leader whose dedication to Nigeria’s progress was unwavering.”
Among the dignitaries at the burial were the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev; Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barr. Pius Akutah; FHA Executive Director of Housing Finance and Accounts, Dr. Mathias Byuan; Senator Titus Zam; Deputy Governor of Benue State, Sam Ode; former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige; and former Deputy Governor of Benue State, Chief Steven Lawani, among others.
