Armed bandits stormed a mosque in Matazu town, Katsina State, during Isha prayers, leaving several worshippers dead and others injured.

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed the attack in a post on X, noting that the gunmen struck at night while prayers were ongoing. He urged urgent government intervention, stressing that assaults on worshippers in the northwest are becoming alarmingly frequent.

As of press time, Katsina State authorities had not released an official statement regarding the incident.
