The pioneer Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Grace Adayilo, has passed away.
Adayilo reportedly died in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Her Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Odey, confirmed the development to Hobnob News via a short text message that simply read: “Yes, please.” However, he provided no further details on the circumstances surrounding her death.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had, on October 6, 2024, approved her appointment as the Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, a role she assumed immediately.
Adayilo made history as the first substantive Head of Service of the FCT, and notably, the first woman to occupy the position.
Before her appointment, she served as the Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.
As of the time of filing this report, neither her family nor the FCT Administration has released an official statement regarding her passing.
