A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has endorsed the senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba, as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was announced on Sunday during a gathering chaired by Aminu Danmaliki, who explained that the decision was based on the senator’s proven track record and commitment to the people.
“Shehu Buba, aside from his legislative responsibilities, has shown deep concern for the economic well-being of Bauchi citizens. During the economic hardship that followed the removal of fuel subsidy, he stood out as the only lawmaker who provided food interventions to cushion the effects,” Danmaliki said.
He further highlighted Buba’s contributions to education, noting that the senator had supported students through scholarship schemes both within and outside Nigeria.
Danmaliki urged residents of Bauchi State to complement the endorsement by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the election.
“Endorsement is not enough. We must all have our PVCs to enable us to exercise our franchise,” he stressed.
Also speaking at the event, the APC Chairman of Bauchi Local Government, Sunusi Biyali, commended Buba for consistently standing by the party and its members.
“Buba’s contributions to his constituents are commendable. He has shown leadership by identifying with his people and defending the integrity of the APC across Bauchi,” Biyali said.
He expressed optimism that with Buba as its flagbearer, the APC stood a strong chance of reclaiming power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027.
