Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has relieved two Senior Special Assistants, Abubakar Sharada and Tasiu Al’amin Roba, of their duties over alleged misconduct.
According to a statement issued on Saturday in Kano by the Press Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko, the dismissed aides were implicated in separate incidents involving the facilitation of bail for a notorious drug baron and the diversion of palliative grains meant for public distribution.
Sharada, the Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, was accused of masterminding the bail of Sulaiman Danwawu, a known drug trafficker. He has been ordered to surrender all government property in his possession by August 11, 2025.
Roba, serving as Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was arrested in 2024 for rebagging palliative grains at a warehouse in Sharada. He is currently facing charges of theft and criminal conspiracy and must return all government belongings, including his identity card, by the same date.
The government cautioned the public against engaging with the two sacked officials on any matter related to Kano State, warning that such interactions would be at the individual’s own risk.
In a related development, the state government cleared Musa Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, of all wrongdoing after an investigative committee affirmed his innocence.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, urging all public officials to maintain the highest standards of integrity in both official and private life.
