British boxing heavyweight, Anthony Joshua, has dropped a major hint that 2025 could mark the end of his illustrious career in the ring.
The 35-year-old former world champion made the revelation during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, stating that his “last punch” will be thrown this year.
Joshua’s last fight took place in September 2024, when he suffered a fifth-round knockout loss to fellow Briton, Daniel Dubois. Despite the defeat, Joshua is expected to return for one final bout before bowing out of the sport.
In the emotional interview, Joshua paid tribute to his longtime promoters, MatchRoom Boxing, who have managed his professional journey since he debuted in 2013.
“Long may you reign supreme and keep giving fighters opportunities to become champions and make boxing great,” Joshua said.
“12 years ago, I signed with you and 12 years later I will throw my last punch with you.”
Joshua’s words have sparked widespread speculation that his next fight could be his farewell, marking the end of a remarkable career that included Olympic gold in 2012, multiple world heavyweight titles, and a lasting impact on British boxing.
