Six students of the Nigerian Law School, Yola campus, have reportedly been kidnapped by suspected armed men along the increasingly dangerous Wukari–Benue highway.
According to Hobnob News, the abduction took place late on Saturday, July 26, 2025, as the students were returning to Adamawa State after completing their compulsory court externship. They were expected to resume academic activities on Monday, July 28.
A fellow student from the Yola campus, who identified himself only as Johnson, confirmed the incident. He disclosed that the kidnappers have already reached out to the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for their release.
The abducted students have been identified as Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David. They were reportedly traveling in a commercial vehicle operated by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, based in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The Wukari–Benue road has gained notoriety in recent months due to a spike in violent attacks, kidnappings, and criminal activity, raising concerns among travelers and local communities alike.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Nigerian Law School, the police, or the Adamawa State Government. Efforts to reach security agencies for comments were unsuccessful.
