A teacher at the prestigious King’s College, Lagos, Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday evening, prompting a police investigation into the tragic incident.
According to police sources, the lifeless body of the 48-year-old educator was found inside one of the classrooms at the college’s main campus on Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island. The discovery was reported to the Lagos State Police Command at approximately 7:40 p.m. by the school’s Vice Principal, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele.
Police detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where the area was cordoned off for a preliminary investigation. Officers conducted a physical examination and documented the scene, but reportedly found no visible signs of violence on the deceased.
Mr. Akano, a native of Oyo State, was rushed to the Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains have since been deposited at the hospital mortuary pending the outcome of an autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Akano’s death. While foul play has not been ruled out, authorities say they are exploring all possible angles.
In a brief statement, police reassured the public that “appropriate steps are being taken to uncover the facts behind this tragic incident.”
