A prominent political support group from the South-East, South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), has committed ₦200 million towards the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made during the inauguration and empowerment ceremony of the Imo State chapter of SERHA, held over the weekend, drawing notable stakeholders, traditional leaders, and party loyalists from across the region.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, National Coordinator of SERHA, presented a cheque of ₦200 million to be used for the purchase of the APC presidential nomination form and support for campaign logistics.

“As ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda, we are committed to ensuring the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027. Today’s gesture reflects our unwavering belief in his leadership and the developmental strides he has brought to the South-East,” Enwere stated.

He praised Tinubu’s efforts in infrastructure development, education, and inclusive governance, citing major projects such as the recently approved $3 billion Eastern Rail Line, which he described as the most significant federal infrastructure investment in the region’s history.

“This railway is a game-changer. It will reduce transportation costs, boost trade, and address the economic marginalisation of our region,” he added.

Enwere also lauded the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) as a significant milestone, aimed at regional development, erosion control, and socio-economic advancement.

In his address, he paid homage to respected South-East figures, including Chief Sam Mbakwe and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and commended Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State for his achievements under the 3R Agenda — Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery.

SERHA also unveiled plans to embark on a grassroots mobilisation tour across all 95 LGAs and 2,344 wards in the South-East starting August 2025, aimed at rallying broad-based support for President Tinubu’s second term.

“This is the South’s turn to complete the constitutionally permitted eight years in office. The South-East will not relent in ensuring President Tinubu returns in 2027,” Enwere declared.

The event was rounded off with the distribution of empowerment items, including motorcycles, mini-buses, sewing machines, hairdressing kits, and financial grants, to promote self-reliance and community development within the region.
