Kwankwaso Visits Daura, Condoles Late Buhari’s Family and Emirate Council

Former Kano State Governor and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

Kwankwaso, during his visit, extended heartfelt sympathies to the family and close associates of the former president, who passed away recently at the age of 82.

The former governor also visited the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, where he conveyed his condolences to the Daura Emirate Council on the loss of one of Nigeria’s most prominent statesmen.

Kwankwaso was received by Alhaji Mamman Daura, a respected elder and confidant of the late president, to whom he offered personal condolences. “May the Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest,” Kwankwaso prayed during the meeting.

The death of President Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023, has prompted a national mourning period and tributes from leaders across the political spectrum.

Kwankwaso’s visit adds to the series of condolence delegations arriving in Daura, as Nigerians continue to honour the legacy of the former leader.
