The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to 10 October 2025, for ruling on his no-case submission.
The adjournment, announced on Friday, follows the court’s schedule ahead of the annual judicial vacation, which begins shortly and runs through the legal break, according to ABN TV.
Kanu’s legal team had filed a no-case submission, contending that the Federal Government failed to establish a prima facie case against him after concluding its case last month. Both prosecution and defence have submitted their final written arguments as directed by the court.
The ruling on 10 October will determine whether Kanu must open his defence or if the charges against him will be struck out.
Kanu has been in detention since 2021 after his controversial rendition from Kenya. His trial continues to draw widespread local and international attention, with increasing calls for due process, transparency, and respect for legal rights.
