The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a stern warning following reports of an alleged plan by commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as okada riders, to launch coordinated attacks on task force officials operating within the Kubwa axis of Abuja.
According to Hobnob News, the warning comes in response to a viral voice note currently circulating on social media, which suggests that a group of okada riders have concluded plans to retaliate against officials of the FCT Task Force. The backlash allegedly stems from a recent clampdown that led to the impoundment of over 200 motorcycles in the area.
Reacting to the threat, the FCT Police Command, in a statement released Thursday night by its spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, described the alleged plot as a clear act of criminality that will be met with the full force of the law.
“The Command will not hesitate to deploy all lawful means, including arrests, prosecution, and necessary force, to deal decisively with perpetrators of public disorder,” the statement read.
Adeh emphasized the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting government officials, and safeguarding lives and property across the territory.
She further assured residents that the Police Command possesses both the capacity and resolve to confront any threats to public peace and security in the FCT.
The Command also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may threaten the safety and stability of the community.
