Bashir Ahmad, a former Special Assistant on Digital Media to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has debunked reports claiming the former Nigerian leader is critically ill and admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ahmad addressed growing speculation surrounding Buhari’s health. While confirming that the former president is currently unwell and undergoing medical care, he dismissed claims that Buhari is in a critical state as exaggerated and misleading.
“President Buhari is receiving treatment but remains stable and is responding well. The reports suggesting he is in the ICU are false,” Ahmad clarified.
He also expressed gratitude to Nigerians and supporters worldwide for their concern and prayers.
“We are thankful for the support, goodwill, and prayers. We remain hopeful for a full and speedy recovery,” he added.
