Tension at PDP Headquarters as Armed Police Take Over Wadata Plaza Ahead of NEC Meeting

Armed policemen have taken control of Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, as uncertainty surrounds the party’s scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting set to take place today.

According to a report by Channels TV, an unnamed PDP official disclosed off camera that the security personnel were deployed to prevent the planned NEC Expanded Caucus meeting from holding.

Hobnob News reports that while some PDP staff were initially permitted entry into the secretariat, they were later ordered to vacate the premises. Journalists covering the event were also asked to leave, further fueling speculation about internal tensions within the party.

Heavily armed officers were seen cordoning off Dalaba Street, the major access road leading to the party’s headquarters, restricting movement and raising concerns among onlookers and party loyalists.

As of the time of filing this report, the PDP leadership is yet to issue an official statement regarding the police presence or the status of the scheduled NEC meeting.
