The blaze originated in a nearby open woodland before swiftly spreading into residential zones along Saadia Nahum Street. Initial reports from the Fire and Rescue Service indicate that the first row of homes closest to the fire were swiftly evacuated as the flames advanced .
Fire services from the Central District were reinforced by units from surrounding areas, with 21 firefighting crews deployed to control the conflagration . Fire and Rescue spokeswoman confirmed that “extensive efforts” are underway to shelter adjacent buildings and ensure civilian safety .
According to Anadolu Agency, the fire ignited under hot, dry conditions, exacerbated by a regional heatwave that saw temperatures soar to **34 °C (93°F)** . Similar weather has previously fueled large-scale fires across Israel this season.
