Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has issued a firm warning regarding the club’s pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, saying the Turkish champions may be forced to turn their attention elsewhere if the forward continues to delay a decision on his future.
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a sensational loan spell with the Yellow and Reds during the 2024/25 season, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances under manager Okan Buruk. His performances were instrumental in Galatasaray clinching both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
According to Hobnob News, the Istanbul giants are desperate to secure the prolific striker on a permanent basis and have already submitted a formal proposal to his representatives. Despite interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, which Osimhen has reportedly turned down, the forward remains undecided about his next move.
Currently vacationing in Nigeria, Osimhen recently told reporters he would make a decision on his future “soon.” But with pre-season preparations looming, Galatasaray’s leadership is growing increasingly impatient.
“He’s making us wait but time is running out,” said Kavukcu. “We’ve offered him figures higher than those proposed in Europe.”
The club’s aggressive pursuit highlights just how pivotal Osimhen has become to their ambitions. But with no clear answer yet from the Nigerian international, Galatasaray may soon be forced to explore other striking options.
