A 51-year-old man, Walter Okafor, was arraigned on Thursday before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court over his alleged involvement in forging a company’s products.
Okafor, whose residential address was not disclosed, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery. He pleaded not guilty.
Police Prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the offence occurred in December 2023 at Idumota, Lagos State. She alleged that Okafor, along with others still at large, forged and duplicated Kiss condom packaging—both small and large sizes—without the consent of TK2 International Nigeria Ltd.
The prosecutor said the offence contravenes Sections 363 and 412 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. Section 363 carries a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment for forgery.
Magistrate Lafeef A. Owolabi granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two reliable sureties in like amount. The case was adjourned to July 1 for mention.
