Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North in the National Assembly, has made a bold declaration of loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he is prepared to lay down his life for the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalists at his country home in Igbere, Abia State, Kalu, a former governor of the state and former Senate Chief Whip, said the APC remains strong in Abia and is determined to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.
“I am ready to lay down my life for the party,” Kalu stated. “I am a member of the party and a strong one at that. I am APC to the core. That’s why APC is strong in Abia North. Our party will work hard to deliver the President in the state. We have done it in the past, and we will do it again in 2027.”
Kalu emphasized that APC loyalists in Abia would rally behind President Tinubu, highlighting the president’s performance in the past two years as a key driver of continued support.
According to Hobnob News, Kalu pointed to Tinubu’s developmental strides as evidence that Nigerians have good reason to trust in the party’s leadership. “Tinubu’s achievements in the past two years are enough to gain the support of Nigerians,” he said.
On the economy, Kalu acknowledged current challenges but expressed optimism that the president’s policies would eventually yield positive results. “The economy needs time to bounce back,” he said. “The President is working to ensure that the economy bounces back and that the naira regains its value.”
Kalu’s passionate remarks come amid increasing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, with the APC already positioning itself to strengthen its hold in traditionally opposition-dominated regions like the South-East.
