The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has said that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alone does not have the political strength to derail President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Speaking on Sunday through a statement issued by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele disclosed that only the involvement of three unnamed individuals could significantly weaken Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term. He assured the public that their identities would be revealed in due course.
“Peter Obi alone cannot weaken President Tinubu’s ambition. Obi alone cannot become President of the country, and the coalition as it stands doesn’t yet have the people it needs to challenge Tinubu’s second-term bid,” Ayodele stated.
The prophet acknowledged that President Tinubu has so far outperformed his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, and possesses the capacity to do even more if given another term. However, he emphasized that the participation of the three yet-to-be-named figures in the political arena or any proposed opposition coalition would spell significant trouble for Tinubu’s re-election hopes.
“We want people who can make things better than ever. Tinubu has worked more than Buhari, and he will do better for his second term if Nigerians allow him to win. But the involvement of three certain people will weaken his victory,” he asserted.
Primate Ayodele also cautioned that President Tinubu must make strategic appointments to avoid betrayal, particularly in northern Nigeria, which he highlighted as a potential flashpoint.
“Tinubu must work on the North very well so that he won’t be betrayed by those whom he believes. If he doesn’t put the right people in some positions, his victory will be truncated, especially in the North,” the cleric warned.
He concluded by advising that Tinubu must take three specific, undisclosed actions to secure victory in 2027, stating, “There will be a lot of difference in the 2027 election, and it’s only three people who can weaken him.”
As speculation mounts over the identities of the trio mentioned by the prophet, political watchers are keenly observing developments that could shape the road to 2027.
