British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has surpassed both England football captain Harry Kane and heavyweight rival Tyson Fury in net worth, reaching €232 million, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
The two-time heavyweight world champion saw his wealth rise by €24 million, up from €208 million last year. Joshua also ranks 24th among the UK’s wealthiest under-40s.
Despite his impressive fortune, Joshua is not the highest-earning athlete on the list. That distinction goes to golf star Rory McIlroy, who is valued at €304 million, up from €263 million a year ago. McIlroy’s recent victory at the Masters, completing his career grand slam and earning €3.68 million, helped push his total PGA Tour prize money past €117 million.
Joshua remains well ahead of Harry Kane, who is valued at €117 million and ranked 38th, and tennis player Andy Murray, who is 35th with €128 million.
Joshua has not fought since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last September. A planned rematch was delayed after Joshua sustained minor injuries in the first fight.
In recent years, Joshua has earned substantial paydays, reportedly making around €35 million for his second-round KO of Francis Ngannou last year. Even after his defeat to Dubois, he reportedly earned a guaranteed €7 million, with total earnings from pay-per-view sales reaching about €29 million.
Earlier this year, Tyson Fury was named the highest-paid boxer of 2024, earning $147 million (€137 million), with $140 million (€131 million) from salary and winnings and $7 million (€6 million) from endorsements.
In endorsement earnings within boxing, Joshua tied with Jake Paul for the highest amount. However, in the ranking of highest-paid athletes in 2024, Joshua was placed 30th, earning $60 million (€56 million) last year, including $50 million (€47 million) from salary and winnings.
