Defection Wave Hits NASS: Two NNPP, One PDP Lawmaker Cross Carpet to APC

ABUJA — In a significant political shift, three members of the House of Representatives officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, altering the political composition of the National Assembly.

Hobnob News reports that two lawmakers from Kano State, Kabiru Usman (Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya Federal Constituency) and Abdullahi Sani (Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituency), who were elected under the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), announced their defection to the APC during plenary.

In a related development, Mr. Wole Oke, a long-serving representative from Osun State elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also declared his switch to the APC.

The official defection was witnessed by the National Chairman of the APC, Mr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who was present in the Green Chamber to welcome the lawmakers into the party.

The development signals a growing momentum for the APC ahead of future political realignments and elections, while intensifying debates about party loyalty and ideological commitment within the legislative arm.
