The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the technical errors that affected the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The decision was made during Thursday’s plenary session, following a motion of urgent public importance moved by Hon. Adewale Adebayo, representing a constituency in Osun State.
The motion was prompted by growing complaints from candidates and parents about irregularities in the released UTME results. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had earlier admitted to errors that impacted students’ performance during the examination.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, acknowledged the mistakes during a press briefing in Abuja, stating, “What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors.”
The House of Representatives’ investigation aims to uncover the cause of the errors and ensure accountability. The probe is expected to provide relief to affected candidates and restore confidence in the examination process.
