Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of the President of the Neo-Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, Olorogun Ese Kakor, over alleged forgery of official state government documents.
In a petition made public on Monday through his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo accused Kakor of forging state documents that falsely claimed to authorize the NBM to carry out educational assistance programs in the Edo South Senatorial District. He described the act as not only criminal and deceitful but a direct assault on the integrity of the state’s administrative systems.
According to the governor, the alleged forgery was perpetrated in collaboration with certain low-ranking civil servants within the Edo State bureaucracy. These individuals, he said, have already been identified and taken into police custody as investigations continue to determine their roles and level of involvement.
Okpebholo assured that all those found culpable would face prosecution under the law, emphasizing that the state government will not tolerate acts that undermine its institutional credibility.
As part of the measures taken, the governor also announced the revocation of the land title on which the NBM headquarters was erected in Edo State. He cited the organization’s alleged involvement in violent crimes and unlawful activities as justification for the move.
Calling on security agencies to step up efforts in dismantling groups allegedly engaged in criminal activities, the governor urged the police and the DSS to ensure that individuals and organizations acting outside the law are held accountable.
“The actions of Mr. Kakor and his collaborators represent a grave threat to the integrity of our institutions. This administration will not hesitate to bring all perpetrators to justice,” the governor stated.
Investigations are ongoing.
