Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to Personally Lead 2025 Hajj Pilgrimage, Promises Spiritually Fulfilling Journey for Kano Pilgrims

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced his intention to personally lead Kano State pilgrims to the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, pledging a spiritually enriching and well-coordinated experience for all participants.

Speaking during a Hajj demonstration exercise held in Kano, the governor underscored the sacred nature of the pilgrimage, describing it as more than a physical journey.

“This is not a mere journey; it is an act of worship. I will personally lead the Kano pilgrims to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience,” Yusuf declared.

To ensure the welfare of pilgrims, Governor Yusuf unveiled a series of comprehensive support measures. According to his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the state has deployed dedicated teams to support pilgrims at every stage—from departure in Nigeria to their return from the Holy Land.

“We have mobilized dedicated teams to cater for the needs of our pilgrims—from airport to accommodation, and throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia. Our goal is to make this year’s pilgrimage the smoothest and safest in Kano’s history,” Yusuf said.

Addressing the gathering, the governor emphasized the importance of discipline and responsible conduct, especially among the youth and women, who he said carry the honor of Kano State with them.

“To our youth, I urge you to avoid any act that could bring dishonor or disaster to our state. As for our women, remember that Kano women are known for their decency. Represent us with pride, respect yourselves, and uphold the dignity of our culture and religion,” he advised.

Governor Yusuf also issued stern warnings against drug use and immoral behavior during the pilgrimage, stressing that such actions contradict Islamic teachings and the spirit of Hajj.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness, urging pilgrims to maintain tidy surroundings during their stay.

“Cleanliness is part of faith. I urge you all to keep your rooms and environments tidy while in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

The governor’s personal involvement and comprehensive plans are seen as a significant step towards elevating the spiritual and logistical experience of Kano State pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj.
