Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has categorically denied recent allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, describing the claims as entirely false and defamatory.
In a series of posts shared via his verified Instagram account on Friday, Mr. Tinubu expressed deep concern over what he called an “orchestrated attempt to malign his character.”
“It is deeply disturbing that someone would fabricate such serious allegations with such confidence. I have never had any meeting or personal engagement with Comrade Atiku Isah, whether in Lagos or elsewhere,” Mr. Tinubu stated.
“I have also never been involved in any act of intimidation, nor have I associated with individuals seeking to perpetrate such behavior. These claims are entirely fictional.”
The response comes after Comrade Isah, during a press conference held on Wednesday, accused Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, of offering him a N100 million bribe to endorse the President’s administration. Isah claimed he rejected the alleged offer, citing concerns over governance and accountability.
Further allegations by the NANS president included claims of abduction, physical assault, and threats to his life. He alleged that the events transpired in Lagos on April 15, involving the purported collaboration of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). According to him, a video of the alleged incident was recorded under duress.
Isah also alleged that individuals involved in the incident boasted of their ability to suppress any potential investigation through high-level connections, including directives to the Inspector General of Police.
“They told me even if I was killed, nothing would happen. They threatened to leak a video and assured me that any fallout would be covered up,” he said.
Despite the alleged threats, the student leader stated that he proceeded with the NANS inauguration and reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability.
As of the time of filing this report, Hobnob News has not independently verified the claims made by Comrade Isah. Neither the Ministry of Youth Development nor the Nigeria Police Force has issued an official response regarding the allegations.
Seyi Tinubu, in his statement, urged the public to disregard the claims and assured that he remains committed to transparency and service in both his public and private engagements.
