The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has officially appointed iconic Nigerian musician, Innocent “2Face” Idibia, as the state’s Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
The announcement was made during 2Face’s visit to the Benue State Government House on Wednesday, where the governor praised the singer for his continued support and public endorsement for the 2027 election.
“Let me thank you very firstly for supporting my administration and for proclaiming me for 2027,” Governor Alia said during the meeting. “I feel it will not be out of place at all, because you are a guru of entertainment. Once you say ‘2Face,’ people start dancing, even without you singing.”
Recognizing 2Face’s influence and longstanding commitment to societal development, Alia noted that the singer’s new role will involve advising the government on how to leverage entertainment for community growth and youth engagement.
“We are happy you’re here,” the governor continued. “On behalf of the state government and our very good people, I want to give you some more responsibility… because you have the capacity to do more and help us chart the way forward to improve other people’s lives.”
2Face Idibia, a native of Benue State, has long been an advocate for peace, youth empowerment, and social development through his music and humanitarian work. His new role is expected to deepen his involvement in state affairs, especially in areas concerning culture, entertainment, and community upliftment.
