Eighteen-year-old Nigerian-American prodigy, Osariemen Unuigbe, has achieved a remarkable academic feat by gaining admission into six Ivy League universities in the United States, including the world-renowned Harvard and Yale.
A native of Edo State, Osariemen is currently a senior at Egg Harbor Township High School in New Jersey, where she has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and leadership. Her extraordinary achievement has been met with widespread admiration and celebration.
Her proud parents, Dr. Augustine and Dr. Florence Unuigbe, described the milestone as “a great miracle” and gave “all glory to God.”
Osariemen’s academic journey is decorated with accolades. She earned a spot at the highly selective Governor’s School of New Jersey and has served in numerous leadership roles throughout her schooling. Her consistent pursuit of excellence has earned her multiple honors, underscoring her dedication to growth, discipline, and scholastic achievement.
She was recently honored as a 2025 “Rising to the Top” scholar by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Southern New Jersey Chapter—yet another nod to her holistic brilliance.
Her story not only highlights her personal triumph but also symbolizes the rising influence of Nigerian students in global academia. According to the Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange, Nigerian enrollment at U.S. institutions rose to 20,029 in the 2023/2024 academic year—an impressive 13.5% increase from prior years.
