Hobnob News – Two individuals were rescued on Sunday afternoon after a three-storey building under construction collapsed on Agarawu Street, Lagos Island.
Emergency responders swiftly moved to the scene and successfully pulled the victims from the rubble. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. While initial reports suggested that more people may have been trapped, authorities have not confirmed additional casualties.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Command stated that no lives were lost. Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin added that the collapse site has been secured, with responders cordoning off the area to ensure safety and allow for further assessment.
This incident comes just one month after a similar building collapse occurred at Oriwu Street in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos, raising fresh concerns about building safety and structural integrity in the state.
Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the collapse.
