The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, pledging unwavering loyalty as the 2027 general elections approach.
This declaration was contained in a communiqué jointly signed on Sunday by the Borno APC Chairman, Hon. Bello Ayuba, and Secretary, Barr. Mustapha Loskuri, following a critical stakeholders meeting.
The high-level gathering saw the presence of APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori; Senate Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume; Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan; former Governor Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan; and former Ambassadors Baba Ahmed Jidda (China) and Dauda Danladi (Pakistan).
Other key attendees included members of the National and State Assemblies, the Speaker and members of the Borno State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Local Government Chairmen, and various party executives and stakeholders.
The 10-point resolution adopted during the meeting reaffirmed the party’s total support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and praised the Vice President’s dedication to the administration’s mandate. Stakeholders urged Shettima to remain steadfast in his loyalty and public service and expressed their desire to see him retained as Vice President in a potential second term.
The party also lauded Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his relentless efforts in restoring peace and rebuilding Borno State, urging him to stay focused on his transformative agenda.
The APC in Borno firmly rejected any possibility of mergers or party defection, asserting that the state would remain a stronghold of progressive politics under the APC. The resolution emphasized the importance of upholding internal democracy, party unity, and discipline.
Furthermore, the meeting appealed to the Federal Government to continue supporting development initiatives in the state, particularly in the areas of security, road infrastructure, and oil exploration in the Northeast, including Kolmani and Lake Chad.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to promoting policies that will ensure continued peace, progress, and prosperity for Borno State and Nigeria at large.
