A tragic incident occurred in the Doubeli area of Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, where a man was found dead after allegedly taking his own life by hanging.
The body was discovered early Saturday morning hanging from a tree at Sauki Transport Motor Park, located at Doubeli Junction. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described the moment as shocking, with many left in disbelief at the sight of the lifeless body swinging from the tree. “It was a terrible sight. People just stood there in silence,” said one onlooker who requested anonymity.
While no suicide note or direct explanation was found, residents and commentators in the area have linked the man’s death to rising social and economic pressures, citing widespread hardship as a potential trigger.
As of midday Saturday, the Adamawa State Police Command had not released an official statement clarifying the circumstances. However, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that investigations had commenced.
“The command is aware of the incident and has launched a full investigation,” Nguroje said briefly.
The incident has stirred conversations around mental health and the deepening economic challenges many Nigerians face. Community leaders are urging the public to seek help and remain supportive of those who may be silently struggling.
