Fear and confusion gripped residents of Buruku Local Government Area this morning as Fulani herdsmen reportedly launched coordinated attacks on several villages in the region.
According to reports, multiple communities in Tombo Mbaya, Buruku LGA, as well as neighboring Mbachoughu and Mbanyagber in Tarka LGA, came under siege in the early hours of the day.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the affected villages include Ortese Mbaatsua, Garagboughul, Usen, Tomahar, and Tse Damkor—all situated within Tombo Mbaya. The attackers, armed and moving in groups, stormed the communities, setting homes ablaze and forcing residents to flee for safety.
Scenes from the aftermath reveal a trail of destruction—burned houses, abandoned belongings, and villagers escaping into nearby forests and neighboring towns. Local sources describe widespread panic, with many families still unaccounted for as of the time of this report.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but community leaders are calling for urgent intervention from security agencies to prevent further violence and provide relief to displaced residents.
