Edo 2024 Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigeria’s first lady mechanic, Engr. Dr. Sandra Aguebor (MFR), on her recent conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Girls/Women Artisanship International, USA.
In a statement personally signed and released by Dr Aikoriogie, he described the honour as “a fitting tribute to a woman who has not only redefined gender roles in a male-dominated field but has become a symbol of empowerment and hope for thousands of women and girls.”
He praised Engr. Aguebor’s remarkable work through the Lady Mechanic Initiative (LMI), noting that her efforts have equipped vulnerable girls and women with practical skills in auto diagnostics and repair, giving them a fresh start and a sustainable path to independence.
“Engr. Aguebor is not just repairing vehicles; she is rebuilding lives. She has turned tools into instruments of change and created a legacy that will outlive her,” he stated.
Dr Aikoriogie, who hails from Edo State like the celebrated honouree, added that her story continues to inspire a new generation of Edo sons and daughters to break barriers and pursue excellence in all fields.
“She exemplifies courage, grace, and purpose. Her journey is proof that with vision and determination, even the most unconventional paths can lead to greatness,” he concluded.
He wished her continued strength, good health, and greater exploits in her mission to empower the girl child and redefine what is possible for women in Nigeria.
E Signed,
Dr Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie
