The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed his condolences to the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, over the passing of his younger brother, Mr. Bernard Tyozenda Ortom.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the loss as painful and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
“The news of the death of Mr. Bernard Tyozenda Ortom came to me as a rude shock, and I understand the feeling of loss that must be overwhelming for my brother and friend, His Excellency Dr. Samuel Ortom,” Wike stated.
He urged former Governor Ortom and the Ortom Adorogo family of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, to find strength in God, the giver and taker of life.
“However, as painful and shocking as this death may be, I urge that solace should be taken in God, who has made death inevitable,” the Minister added.
Wike extended his sympathies on behalf of his family, friends, and associates, praying that God in His infinite mercies grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable and painful loss.
