As our Muslim brothers and sisters in Edo State and across the nation mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt felicitations on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. This sacred period of devotion and self-discipline has been one of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
The past weeks of fasting and prayer have reinforced the timeless values of selflessness, patience, and love, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.). The essence of Ramadan is not only in the physical act of fasting but also in the spiritual growth that comes from increased piety, acts of kindness, and a renewed commitment to righteousness. It is a time that calls for compassion, unity, and an unwavering dedication to justice and peace.
I commend the Muslim faithful for their display of empathy and generosity throughout this period, particularly in reaching out to the less privileged and fostering a sense of brotherhood. As we celebrate this joyous occasion, I urge you to carry forward these noble virtues beyond the Ramadan season—continuing to be beacons of peace, tolerance, and unity in our communities.
Let us all, regardless of our faith, use this opportunity to strengthen the bonds of harmony, uphold the principles of fairness and respect, and work collectively for the development of our dear state and nation.
