The Benue State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Veronica Garba, has advised outgoing corps members to embrace integrity and resist fraudulent activities as they transition into the larger society.
Speaking at the Makurdi Zonal Office during the passing-out ceremony for Batch A, Stream 2 corps members on Thursday, Garba emphasized the importance of patience and hard work in achieving success.
“As you step into the next phase of your journey, I encourage you to uphold the values and skills acquired during your service year. Remain patient in your pursuit of success and be wary of the temptation of the ‘get-rich-quick’ mentality and fraudulent activities such as internet fraud. This will only lead to trouble,” she warned.
She urged the corps members to remain resilient and dedicated, assuring them that their efforts would eventually be rewarded.
Earlier, the NYSC Zonal Inspector for Makurdi Zone, Mrs. Comfort Hua, commended the outgoing corps members for their discipline and punctuality. She noted that their early arrival for the low-key passing-out ceremony demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility.
The Local Inspector also expressed appreciation to the State Coordinator and her team for their unwavering support throughout the service year, adding that the departing corps members would be greatly missed.
The event’s highlight was the symbolic presentation of Certificates of National Service, marking the official completion of their one-year service to the nation.
