There was confusion after a 31-year-old man, identified as Ajayi Nicholas, allegedly collapsed and died inside a sex worker’s room in New Kutunku, a community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Josiah Gabriel, told reporters on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Saturday around 5 pm, when the deceased checked into a hotel room in the area.
He stated that the man collapsed as he was about to leave, prompting the woman to alert the hotel manager.
The manager, who recognized the deceased, quickly informed his relatives residing nearby. The man was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Some policemen from the local outpost visited the hotel to investigate.
He said, “After that, the man’s corpse was deposited at the mortuary, while the lady in question was detained by the police.”
A police officer, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident, stating that the body was moved to the mortuary after an autopsy.
