Phrank Shaibu, media aide to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has strongly criticized Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, for her remarks regarding the sexual harassment allegations against her husband.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, appeared on Arise TV on Friday, where she accused Akpabio of making sexual advances toward her on two occasions. She alleged that the seating arrangements in the Senate were deliberately manipulated to frustrate her legislative duties. Drawing an analogy, she likened her experience to a student failing an exam for refusing to sleep with a lecturer.
In response, Mrs. Akpabio dismissed Natasha’s allegations as baseless, claiming the senator was only seeking attention for personal gain. She further initiated legal action, demanding N250 billion in damages.
Reacting to Mrs. Akpabio’s statement, Shaibu took to social media to express his disapproval. He mocked her suggestion that Natasha’s husband, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, should have reached out to her privately about the allegations.
Shaibu wrote: “So, madam truly believes that High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, the revered Alema of Warri Kingdom, should have personally reached out to her to lament that the ‘Uncommon Transformer’ harbored indecent intentions toward his wife? That he didn’t call to say your hubby wanted to sleep with his wife makes Natasha’s account false? If you have no valid argument, what happened to silence?”
He further hinted that Natasha was not the first woman to make such accusations against the Senate President, adding another layer to the growing controversy.
