In a bold declaration, Chief of Army Staff, Major General Olufemi Oluyede, has vowed that terrorists in Nigeria will have no respite until they are completely neutralized. Speaking during his visit to the 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Oluyede emphasized that the Nigerian Army is enhancing its strategies to eliminate more terrorists, particularly in the northeast.
The army chief noted that significant success has been achieved in eliminating a large number of bandits, and further efforts are underway to strengthen these achievements. Oluyede assured that the army is committed to improving security across the country, stating, “We have been making efforts to ensure that these terrorists are eradicated from Nigeria. All hands are on deck to improve security across the country.”
In addition to his vow to crush terrorists, Oluyede stressed the importance of prioritizing soldiers’ welfare. He explained that the army is working to enhance the well-being of soldiers and improve their operational capacity across the country. “I am here primarily to check on my soldiers and assess their well-being. I also want to encourage them to perform their duties more effectively so that, together, we can make Nigeria safer and more secure,” he said.
Oluyede’s visit to the 35 Artillery Brigade was accompanied by senior officials from the force headquarters. During his address, he inspected the quarter guard and encouraged personnel to perform their duties effectively. The army chief’s commitment to eliminating terrorists and prioritizing soldiers’ welfare is a reassuring step towards a safer and more secure Nigeria.
