MultiChoice has announced an upcoming price increase for its DStv and GOtv subscription packages, set to take effect on March 1, 2025. The company disclosed this adjustment in a statement issued to its customers on Monday.
The statement, titled “Price adjustments for DStv and GOtv packages,” informed subscribers of the imminent changes. It read: “Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages.
“This is to enable us to continue to offer our customers world-class homegrown and international content, delivered through the best technology.”
This price revision comes nearly a year after MultiChoice last increased its rates.
As per the new pricing structure, the DStv Compact bouquet will now cost N19,000, up from N15,700, while the Compact Plus subscription will rise to N30,000. The Premium package, previously priced at N38,000, will now cost N44,500.
GOtv subscribers will also experience price hikes. The GOtv Jinja package will increase from N3,600 to N3,900, while GOtv Plus will go from N4,850 to N5,800. The GOtv Max package will now cost N8,500, and the Supa plan will be priced at N11,400. Meanwhile, the Supa Plus package will see an increase to N16,800.
MultiChoice attributed the price adjustment to rising operational costs in Nigeria. The company cited factors such as high inflation and the depreciation of the naira, which have significantly impacted its business expenses.
