Dangote Peugeot Expands Production to 44,000 Vehicles Annually

Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (DPAN) has significantly increased its production capacity to 44,000 vehicles per year by incorporating advanced technology into its assembly operations. With state-of-the-art systems in place, the plant now manufactures up to 120 vehicles daily, enhancing local automotive production and reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported cars.

Popular Peugeot models, including the Landtrek pickup, 3008, 5008, and 508 GT, are now assembled locally, offering high-quality and competitively priced alternatives while supporting Nigeria’s push for self-sufficiency in vehicle manufacturing.

Speaking at the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, Senior Advisor to the President of Dangote Group, emphasized the company’s digital transformation, particularly in cement production.

“By assembling globally renowned Peugeot models, DPAN is helping to foster trade, promote local manufacturing, and drive Nigeria’s journey towards industrial self-sufficiency,” Abdurrahman stated.

This year’s trade fair, themed “Promoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Trade, and Agriculture through Digital Transformation,” served as a platform for Dangote Group to showcase its extensive use of advanced technologies.

Abdurrahman highlighted the company’s continuous digitization, explaining how smart and automated systems have transformed operations across Dangote’s various industries.

“We have since digitized our manufacturing and sales processes, particularly in our cement plants, where tasks that once took days now take minutes.”

She further elaborated that these technological advancements extend across all Dangote sectors, including cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, petrochemicals, agriculture, and automobiles. This broad integration positions the company as a leader in multiple industries.

Additionally, she mentioned the company’s digital ordering system, the DMS Application, which has improved customer service.

“The DMS App, available on Android and iOS, allows our registered customers in the cement, sugar, and salt sectors to access our products anytime, anywhere,” she said, underlining Dangote’s customer-focused strategy.

At the trade fair, Dangote Group’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy were widely recognized.

Ishaya Idi, President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), commended the company’s role in fostering job creation and economic expansion.

“The 46th Kaduna Trade Fair has strengthened the partnership between KADCCIMA and Dangote Group, a company that continues to be a driving force in Nigeria’s industrial landscape,” Idi remarked.

The Federal Government also acknowledged Dangote Group’s impact on national development.

Jumoke Oduwole, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, spoke on behalf of President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Dafang Sale, praising Dangote’s investments.

“Dangote Group’s commitment to innovation and industrialization is critical to Nigeria’s economic growth. We appreciate the remarkable work they are doing,” Sale stated.

Usman Saulawa, Director General of KADCCIMA, also emphasized the company’s influence on both local and global markets.

“The Dangote Group has made a significant contribution to Kaduna State’s business community and continues to play a vital role in Nigeria’s broader economic development,” Saulawa said, highlighting the collaboration between the Kaduna State Government, Dangote Group, and other key stakeholders at the fair.
