Asake Officially Exits YBNL Nation, Launches Giran Republic Label

Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has officially ended his time with YBNL Nation, the record label founded by rapper and music executive Olamide.

The ‘Lonely at the Top’ singer announced his departure by launching his own label, Giran Republic, under which he released his latest track, “Why Love.”

This development follows months of speculation about his quiet exit from YBNL, which was rumored to be under controversial circumstances.

Earlier in the year, Asake indirectly addressed these rumors by paying tribute to Olamide in his 2025 single “Military.”

Asake joined YBNL Nation in February 2022 and quickly rose to prominence as one of Nigeria’s top musical exports. By mid-2022, he had secured a distribution deal with Empire, which remains intact despite leaving YBNL.

Fans have eagerly speculated about his next move, and Asake now appears fully in control of his music career with Giran Republic. Despite parting ways, his respect for Olamide endures, showing that some exits can remain amicable.
