In a significant move to boost economic growth and infrastructure development in the North-Central region, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed a bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC). The signing of the bill was announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session on Tuesday.
The NCDC is designed to tackle the challenges facing the region and promote economic growth, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of infrastructure. This development is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of people living in the North-Central region .
Akpabio expressed optimism that the commission would drive development at the grassroots level, saying, “Let me also inform my colleagues that Mr. President has assented to the North-Central Development Commission establishment bill 2024, aimed at bringing development to the grassroots”.
