Senator Ned Nwoko Dumps PDP for APC Amid Party Crisis

The Senate has formally announced the defection of Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This move follows his recent resignation from the opposition party, citing the current state of PDP, internal crises, and instability as reasons for his defection.

According to Hobnob News online , Nwoko stated that he left the PDP because Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and former governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, did not give him space to function.

The senator’s defection was met with thunderous chants as he was escorted to the majority wing of the Upper Chamber.

In a correspondence read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Nwoko urged the Senate to establish an ad hoc committee to investigate the ongoing crisis within the PDP. He emphasized the need for a viable opposition to safeguard Nigeria’s political landscape and ensure a balanced democratic process.
