The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has taken swift action against hoodlums caught defecating on the Ile Epo Pedestrian Bridge in the Abule Egba area. Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab announced the development on X.com, stating that the enforcement team has addressed the issue of hoodlums defiling the bridge with waste and defecation.
The punishment came after the individuals were arrested on Saturday. As part of their punishment, they were tasked with clearing all the filth and restoring the bridge to a clean and safe state.
This move is part of the state government’s efforts to maintain cleanliness and safety in public spaces. Recently, the Lagos sanitation corps arrested 49 miscreants in Ikoyi and Victoria Island during an overnight raid. The state government has also announced plans to demolish illegal markets and shanties at Cele underbridge and undergo urban renewal on Lagos Island.
