Heavily armed men have kidnapped the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, in the Arepo area of Ogun State. The armed men shot sporadically during the kidnap, which occurred at the victim’s residence on Aminu Street.
According to CSP Omolola Odutola, police spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the kidnappers, numbering four, attacked Mrs. Odumosu as she was about to enter her home, dragged her from her Lexus Jeep, and took her through swampy areas to an unknown location.
The police have acted swiftly to secure her release, deploying operatives and engaging local security forces in the reverine areas, including Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba. The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been briefed, and all covert operations have been deployed to assist with digital intelligence to ensure Mrs. Odumosu is rescued unhurt.
Efforts are currently underway to search bushes in the area to facilitate her release. The Ogun State Police Command has a history of successful rescue operations, having recently rescued three Indians and a Nigerian kidnapped on the Sagamu-Benin expressway.
