A motion has been filed before an Abuja Magistrate Court, seeking the immediate release of Abraham Daniel, a former pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre; Alexander Enenche, the younger brother of Pastor Paul Enenche; and Oyinbolo Enenche Peter from the Nigerian Correctional Center in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The motion, filed by their legal counsel, S.M. Oyeghe, Esq., with Motion No. MC/07/2025, seeks to set aside a prior court order dated January 13, 2025, which had remanded the applicants to a correctional center. The applicants’ lawyer argued that their continued detention was unwarranted and urged the court to facilitate their release.
According to the motion, the respondents misled the court by suppressing and misrepresenting facts, including that the applicants voluntarily honored the police invitation and did not interfere with the investigation. The applicants are presumed innocent until proven guilty, and their detention violates their constitutional rights to liberty and bail.
The court has been urged to rule in favor of the applicants and direct their immediate release. The motion also seeks an order admitting the applicants to bail pending the conclusion of investigation, arraignment, and trial, if any.
