Singer Seun Kuti has distanced himself from the ongoing feud between his colleagues Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.
Speed Darlington was recently arrested after accusing Burna Boy of having an illicit relationship with American music executive Diddy in an alleged attempt to win a Grammy.
During an Instagram live session, Kuti addressed comments from fans and made it clear he did not want to be involved in the controversy. He dismissed any assumptions that Burna Boy gifting him diamond jewelry meant he was closely aligned with him.
He said, “Don’t involve me in Burna Boy & Speed Darlington’s case; because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser. Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular.”
Kuti also pointed out that Diddy’s involvement in promoting Speed Darlington’s career contradicted the allegations. “He reposted ‘Bangdadang,’ which made the song popular. I have done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” he added.
Kuti reiterated his neutrality, refusing to take sides in the dispute.
