The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has announced that corps members will soon start receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000. This development was revealed during the commissioning of a 32-seater bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company in Abuja.
According to General Ahmed, the new allowance is part of the federal government’s efforts to improve the welfare of corps members. He assured that arrangements for the payment of the new allowance have been concluded. The Director General also expressed gratitude to Capital Express Insurance for their kind gesture, stating that the bus will ease transportation challenges faced by corps members and NYSC staff in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) .
The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance Company, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, noted that the donation is a result of the company’s partnership with NYSC. He promised that the company will consider other areas of assistance to the scheme in 2025.
