Aminu Datti Ahmad has assumed office as the new Commandant of the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), succeeding Jamilu Abdu Indabawa. This development was made public in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu.
During the handover ceremony, the outgoing Commandant, Indabawa, expressed his gratitude to God and thanked the officers and men of the Command for their support during his tenure. He urged the personnel to extend the same cooperation to the new Commandant and emphasized the need for greater commitment and dedication in carrying out the Corps’ mandate.
In his address, Ahmad praised the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his leadership and commitment to the Corps’ vision and mission. Ahmad assured the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, and the people of the state that he is dedicated to ensuring adequate security, protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, and improving disaster and crisis management .
Ahmad, a native of Gwale in Kano State, has an impressive educational background. He attended Jarkasa Special Primary School and Government Secondary School, Gwale, before proceeding to Bayero University, Kano, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Hausa. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control.
